My suggestion, don't feed them. When ever I leave for up to a week, I let
them fend for themselves. I have had too many fish killed by good
intentioned helpers. The adult fish can handle no food for a week without
ill effects. The egg production might diminsh until they are conditioned
again. The only problem is with the babies. They won't fare as well for a
week but a few days are ok. I add java moss, daphnia and snails to my fry
containers and this keeps them going for vacations. I try not pick eggs
prior to vacations so I don't have new born fry to leave without food. Good
luck, Russ Feilzer
