I feed my fish well on live foods prior to going away. White worms are a
good food to build up fat reserves. I put in a good supply of Daphnia before
leaving & just leave them alone. For a week this works OK. The fish may be a
little thinner but they are alive & not subjected to non fishkeepers over
feeding with dried foods.
I refer here to Aphyosemion sp. I think this would not work so well on SA
annuals or Notho sp.
