Vacation Feeding

Hi List,
    I have a question about feeding my fish while I'm away. I feed exclusively live food to my fish. Some that I have were wild imports and I'm not sure that they will take flake food. My oldest son and daughter-in-law would feed my fish but, it is too much to ask for them to spend over an hour feeding fish. What do you do? I'm also curious about "golden pearls". Is this food an acceptable substitute for live food? How easy to foul the water with this food? I am open to any and all suggestions.
