Re: Mixing Fry(babies) NOT
I own a pure Cocker Spaniel, but it's not important to must people in the world. MOST people own a dog to just have a companion that is fun, loyal, always there when you get home, etc. I have never used my dog for anything but an obstacle. She has no purpose in life other than to get in the way, and to always be there when I need some company. I don't hunt, I think it is cruel, unless you eat what you kill. I don't need my doggie to do anything but follow me around, roll over, shake, sit, etc. You do not NEED a dog who knows how to find poor little defensless birds, you need a new hobby. And, suppose the person is a child such as myself, and just wants a pretty fish, fish have no purpose in life other than 1: to be pretty and 2: to make more fishes. That is all. Do your fish hop out of the tank and go find little birds for you to kill? I sure don't think so. And I seriously doubt that if your fish DO have a function, a mix of 2 types would do the SAME EXACT THING. Fishes eat!
, swim, fight on occasion, and make more fish. Gardneri Akure do this, Gardneri Jos Plateu do this, Gardneri N'Sukka do it, they all do the same exact thing! So a hybrid of them would do the SAME EXACT THING. The only difference will be the color and a slight difference in body shape and finnage shape. They will still eat, swim, have arguements, and have sex. Dogs have much more complex minds that fish, so do NOT compare the 2. You cannot teach a fish to retrieve a dead fly dropped in the water, it may go after it and eat it, but that is instinct, you did not ttrain it to do that. Dogs are trained to go and get a little bird that you have shot out of the air, and carefully carry it back to you, the big hunter man that shoots little birds. Fish can't do that, they have no purpose in life, they are just there. And, how would you like it if one day this big thing came running at you, you flew away, and BANG! A peice of shot hits you in the head. Does that sound fun? If it does,!
I think you should find someone to aid you in that experienc!

Ok Chris. I'm sure that many others will take up the cause in regards to
what you have stated about the parentage of wild killies, so I will only
address the above statement. Yes, I do care what kind of dog that I have.
She is a Britney Spaniel. That is important because I need a dog who
points, hunts in close, is good with upland game, retrieves and is small
enough and non hyper enough to live in the city. Every other breed that I
have checked out does not seem to have all of these attributes. It is of
coarse true that I could get lucky with a mutt, but by staying with a known
breed, I increase my odds of getting these behaviors. Now to bring this
conversation back to killies......... When I sell killies of a known
location to someone else by mail, they know what they will be just as if I
were to sell them a dog that was pure bred.
