Egg Bound Notho

I have a pair of N. eggeri in which the female is very fat/blotted.  I have
heard others talking about females being egg bound.  Is this a physical
condition or is it that the male is just not interested?  In either case is
there a cure or is should I look for another female?  The male is a very
attractive fish and I have only the one female.  Would appreciate any help.
