At $1.00/gal, the store makes the RO water very EXPENSIVE!

Our local Wal-Mart store sells it for 0.33/gal, if you bring your own
container.(They have a machine that dispenses RO water.) I use 1 gal
milk jugs. They are easier to handle than 5 gal carboys.

In any case, use RO water only if you really NEED it, because, over
time, it will run into MONEY and you will tend to change water less
often! 

Any changes from tap to RO/tap mixture and back again should be done
SLOWLY, ideally by dripping it in. Fish (even killies) will get used to
almost any potable water, IF the change is done very gradually.
