Fish room plans and other disasters

Happy New Year all. With any luck 2002 will be better than 2001; we can all
hope and pray. But I digress.

I've been working on creating this wonderful fishroom in our basement and
recently picked up a few pair of killies at the local club meeting to restart
my collection. It really has been fun: I'm adding a sink, with hot and cold
running water, and a drain - not too bad for a rental house. And I'm looking
at an optimal arrangement for racks, in the mean time my poor fish aren't
doing to well (okay, everything died). I've come to believe that it isn't
the food, (mostly bbs with a touch of other live and flake) or even the water
changes (roughly weekly) in heavily planted tanks.

Just a thought but does anyone think it could be the weather. This morning
it was something like 9 degrees outside and I'm against an uninsulated wall.
Geez, stupid, stupid, stupid I'm saying to myself. Well, no more new fish
for a while, at least until I can get some good insulation installed. Now to
get the landlord to pay for it all. Hehehe. Its a blistering 25 right now
(midday).
