Lee, the vexillifer, burundi, scheeli, calliurum history is really complex.
You are correct that 'burundi' is now regarded as a form of scheeli. In my
defense I am after a photo of Scheel's 'burundi' which was distributed as
both 'vexillifer' & 'burundi' in the '70's in the UK. I bought eggs of
vexillifer then which grew on to be the exact image of 'Burundi' (in
Scheel's vol.1) as did many others in the BKA at this time. I mentioned both
names in the hope of jogging memories. This mix up has been the source of
much confusion. It would be nice to put photos of both forms circulating at
this time into the site to make a comparison & sort out this confusion (if
only for historical reference).
Incidentally A.scheeli scheeli was doubled up due to the erroneous
description of A.scheeli akamkpaense by Radda in 1975. I had this (then)
ssp. & I have put a photo of this form in my website on this page
