Amquel in shipping bags

Hi Folks,

I just learned something new which I would like to share with you. I
recently received fish packed with Amquel in the bags.

They got here after several days of shipping and they were in very good
shape. Hurray for the Amquel.

But when they hit my soft water they all but burst into flames. They went
into shock despite the fact that I dripped them in over almost an hour.
They "floated" to the surface unable to sink and were "breathing" very
rapidly. Despite the fact that they did not actually lose their balance or
go belly up it took them about three days to recover. I did add a few
handfuls of salt to push up the TDS of the water and IMHO I think it did
save the fish.

So just a note of caution, always drip in your fish slowly and if you ship
the fish in Amquel or something else mark the bags so that the recipient
knows. There is very often too little water in the bag for the recipient to
do many meaningful tests on his end.

Best regards,

~RJ~
