Re: disinfecting java moss

I think that Java Moss is particularly damaged by chemical treatments, not
only because it is a fine leaves plant, but maybe above all because it is a
bryophytic species... Anyway, I had an experience about destruction of hair
algae growing on Java moss. I put Java moss in a tank of about 100 liters
with 4 individuals of Cichlasoma meeki. Although light intensity was the
same and nutrient level was high, algae totally disappeared and the fish
prevent them to regrow. Fortunately, C. meeki don't consume Java moss, which
gently increases its biomass...
