Your sword plants should send out runners when they are growing
healthily. You can try adding some substrate fertilization to get them
going. Some species send out runners like mad; others seem to require a
12/12 light/dark to stimulate flowering. I think this is especially true
for Aponogetons but it might help for Echinodorus too.
