I had a sword that I wanted to remove from my tank, but it was very well
rooted, so I took a short cut and just cut off all the leaves leaving the
rest to rot. Only problem is that it didn't, it soon sent up new leaves
and eventually grew back to it's full size. All I can say to you, is to try.
