Matthew R. Sprague has problems with cold temps at floor level where the
yeast bottle sits.

Matthew, get a ceiing fan to mix the room air to a uniform temperature.
That will make it more comfortable for you too. You could also put the
yeast container into a warm water bath, heated by an aquarium heater or
other heat source.
