I just picked up two of these great temperature monitors from Tech America.  
It's a small white battery operated unit. It has a remote temp sensor that can
be submerged in the tank, and displays the Current Temp,  the minimum recorded
temp, and the maximum recorded temp.  It also has a user-settable min and max
temp alarm.  

The catalog number is 980-0346.  The price is normally $20.00, but it's
currently on sale for just $9.99.

I'm not associated with Tech Am, just thought others might be interested.  If
