I'm running my tank as an open tank.  I do have glass covers, but my
lighting fixture rests on top of my tank and is very big, so it makes it
impossible to lift the glass to feed the fish.  I took 'em off as an
experiment.  I only have to top off every couple of days or so, so I'm
sticking with an open tank.
