CO2 valve issue

I spent the greater part of today trying to locade the S valves and
was given a suggestion.  Instead of running at 6 to 10 psi to reduce the
pressure down to under 1 psi.  This suposedly can be done using a low cost 
about $15.00 LP gas regulator.  From there they claim inexpensive needdl 
valves
could work at under $10.00 each.  The idea sounds great but must have a bug 
in it 
otherwise someone else would have thaught about it.  So any ideas out there
why it will not work?
