	It depends "which" hardening you are talking about. Calcium will
increase
	the total hardness typically measured as GH. Calcium carbonate
	will increase both GH and the carbonate hardness (KH). I add Calcium
	for my plants in the form of Oyster Shell which does not contain any
	carbonates. Therefor I am increasing GH and not KH.
