easter grass

Someone was considering using easter grass as a cheap filter media.
Instead of that, I'd recommend going to a sewing/craft store and
getting a big bag of polyester floss - it's the same white floss that
they use in those corner filters (at least as far as I know). For a
couple bucks, you can get about a 10 year supply. I have used it for
years without problems. It works well, when it gets dirty, just throw
it out and put a new blob in.
