A caution to everyone-if your plants are not using nitrates for whatever
reason don't let the level of nitrates get too high. I have had that
happen in tanks and the high nitrate concentration will eventually attack
the eyes of fish, eventually destroying them. I have had that happen with
both angels and Pearl Gouramiis. If you are not doing water changes keep
close tabs on your nitrate level.
