In my area, there aren't many, if any, companies who sell quartz sandblasting sand, and the people at my Home Depot and Lowes had never heard of Tex Blast. I got what my lfs calls "Tex Blast" for $15 for a 50 lb. bag, which I thought was a good price. It's brownish in color. The bag just said, "Filter media." Hope this helps. Holly
