This may seem like a stupid question, but I can't find the answer anywhere:
I see people talking about there plants bubbling off oxygen... do all of the
(aquatic) plants do this or only certain ones? What do you have to do to
get them to do this?
I have two heavily planted tanks, both with CO2 injection. I fertilize all
the plants w/ 1/2 a Jobes stick... my nitrate levels used to be around 60ppm
constantly until I reduced my boiled (it was twice what it should have
been), now I have 0ppm Ammonia and 0ppm Nitrate, and a pH right around 7.
My water, out of the tap, test out at less than one degree GHQ and kWh, so I
add a little baking soda with water changes, and I have a small pile of
shells in one (back) corner of each of the two aquariums (to help provide Ca
to buffer the system).
So what am I doing wrong? oh yeah, one of the tanks has just gravel
substrate, and the other has kitty litter covered by gravel.
