Yes, I have been. MTS(Malaysian Trumpet Snails) are
livebearers. I've yet seen only 2 babies so far for about 2
months since their arrival. You're right on their loosening up
the substrate and, ergo, helping it oxygenate. They're about
little over 1/2", light sienna, cone-shaped, both scavengers
and algae eaters. So you know whether they overpopulate my
tank. Perhaps, it's because I don't overfeed and keep the
bottom surface clean. Only things I drop into the bottom are
algae wafers for algae eaters and substrate fertilizers. No LFS
sells them. I asked the staffers to give me one or two.
