James, thanks for the plug.  In your case, I would use one tank, one
regulator, four Eheim diffusors  and a manifold made up of four HIGH
QUALITY air pump valves (they cost about $3 each in solid brass).  The
regulator would be set to about 16 pounds and the valves used to drop the
pressure just a bit to the sweet spot for each tank.   This will be
cost-effective, stable, and easy to balance.
