Regarding the Magnum vs. Eheim question, I too
believe the Eheim filters are superior. If you add a double isolation
valve ($13 each) into the input and output lines, maintenance becomes even
easier.
Some have questioned about a good mail order
place for plants. I recently purchased a large amount from Arizona Aquatic
Gardens (800 9424523) and was very pleased. Each plant was in perfect
condition, and they give you more than you pay for. They also answer any
questions and are quite pleasant to deal with. You won't be
sorry.
