EDTA is sensitive to light so decays rather quickly. How fast is dependent on many factors so is impossible to tell, but its likely in a matter of days. Thats one of the reasons that FREQUENT dosing of iron is recommended. Other chelators are not as light sensitive so may last longer. They are, however, generally more expensive and more difficult to use. dave.
