I have one on a 20H quarantine tank just because it's an extra.  It is a
little too powerful if that were to be a show tank.  You can point the output
downward so it doesn't disturb the surface - I do this with one on a 65
gallon.  The micron filter tends to clog after 2-3 days so I am experimenting
with using it on a timer that only runs at night.  It blows a lot of bubbles
after the plants have been bubbling a while.  Nice filters, but probably not
for a planted tank.
