styrofoam and cracking tanks



I like to use a piece of 3/4" plywood under my tanks and on top of that
I put a piece of styrofoam. This helps to relieve any stress points and
avoid a possibly twisted stand. This is especially important if you are
shimming the stand. I'd put the shims on the floor and then put a
plywood sheet on top of that too as previously suggested. I think being
flat is more important for structural safety than being level.
