Apon. crispus

It flowered and went to seed about two months ago, and its growth
deteriorated instantly after. When I moved it to a new tank about a
month ago, I clipped the nastier leaves, but left a few that were mostly
ok, and it sent up another stalk (no leaves, just stalk). The leaves
haven't deteriorated any further, but the plant hasn't grown new ones,
either. The stalk, though, is growing as vigorously as ever. Should I
clip it? Should I let it go? Should I clip the rest of the leaves, and
encourage it to go dormant?

If it's 'going dormant', is it normal for such a plant to send up a
stalk?
