By the time your turtles get hungry enough to eat much plant material they
are in trouble.   They are primarily carnivores.  They really like house
flies that have been swatted just hard enough to struggle on the surface of
the water.   From those you can train them to eat dead flies, then fat-free
bits of beef.   Also fish carcass (head, fins, and the like) are relished.
Also fish guts.  You can add a little spinach or green leaf lettuce just
for fun later on.   Good luck, I love them little Pseudomys and Chrysamys
species.
