I am currently using a Renaissance canister filter and am very 
happy with it.  It is very quiet, is easy to disconnect and 
clean, has plenty of room inside for filter material, and seems 
to be well-made.  I've used a Magnum 350 and a HOT filter in the 
past, but found the 350 to be very noisy and hard to disconnect, 
and the HOT filter created far too much flow in my tank and 
tended to inject a lot of air bubbles.  The Renaissance is a 
winner.
