Re: Large Swords

Recently, most of my Amazon Swords have started generating leaves that are
much too tall for my 110 gallon (20 inches tall) tank. Up until now, the
Swords, which are about a year old, have remained compact and just tall
enough for the tank. I am using VHO lights (330 watts of Aqua Suns) that
have been over the tank for eight months. I fertilize with PMDD and inject
 CO2. >>

I would assume you have a variety of swords with simply large tall growth.
What are commonly called swords in the average pet store may be any of
several actual species. Some are limited to 12 inches, others to 16 inches
and some will easily grow to 2 or 3 times that. Also some of them will grow
nicely even with there leaves out of the water.
