Sure.  AB-sorption is soaking up something into the internal structure of the
thing doing the absorption.  Like a sponge.

AD-sorption is attracting and holding something onto the surface of the thing
doing the adsorbing.  This is how activated carbon removes chemicals from
water.  It gets coated on the outside only with the stuff it is collecting.
