PMDD color and Calcium

"Strange Colors"

I use the Chelated trace mix from Home Grown Hydro in my PMDD mix. Well
one day I noticed what I thought was a cal deficiency so I went to the
hardware store and picked up some plaster of paris. It is mostly calcium
sulfate with a little calcium carbonate. So I started adding this to my
PMDD mixture. Well I noticed that the mix, after a couple days took on a
somewhat red color. Well now I am concerned that maybe this is "rusting"
my iron??? Without the plaster of paris mix, the PMDD remains a yellow
color.

Thanks,
Jeff
