Salvinia

Hi,

I got a neat little plant today called salvinia (sp?).  The guy I got it
from said it is a short day plant, so it needs short days in order to do
well.  Other than that, I don't know a thing about it.  Since it needs
short days, I won't be able to put it in my water garden.  Right now I
have it under a single 18" fluorescent bulb.  Is this enough light?  It
is about 3-4 inches below the bulb.  Any info you can tell me about this
interesting little floater and how to make it thrive would be great!
