Clown Loach Eating Plants?

Yes, I have had the same behavior from my loaches (two clown loaches and
two marbled loaches). They only eat/make holes on the new leaves of my
giant hygro and sword plants, and leave the crypts, java fern, and val
alone. I guess some plants taste better.
