Algea question

I am about to tear down my 60 gallon and set up for a planted tank. I have a a few plants in there now and I would like to keep for the new setup. Problem is I can see alga growing on them and I have terrible problem with green dot algae now. I don't want to bring this into the new tank. Is there any way to treat the plants or should I just discard them?

Also I add an bristle nose Pleco and he has done wonders in the tank except that he doesn't seem to want anything to do with the green dot algae on the glass. Anyone had any luck with anything (snails included) in eat this?

Thanks

When we try to imagine what God is like we must of necessity use
that-which-is-not-God as raw material for our minds to work on:
hence whatever we visualize God to be, He is not, for we have
constructed our image out of that which He has made and what He
has made is not God
