E. horemanii

Can anyone suggest how I can propagate the adventitious plants growing
from the flower stem of an E. horemanii?  Specifically, when and how to
get them from the very stiff vertical flower stalk to the gravel.  The
young plants are a few inches in size growing mostly out of the water,
except for the base, and there are not yet any roots.  With E.
amazonicus i was able to easily bend the flower stem so the young plants
could root into the gravel and then cut the stem after they were well
established.  That's not going to work here.  Any and all ideas welcome.
