Hi Folks

Jason light posted about tank covers:

A number of people on this list do not use covers per se. I do
for 2 reasons: 1. keeps fish in, and 2. I dont like too much
evaporation (changes H20 parameters).
I also use glass covers. Since the glass eventually accumulates
water crud (minerals remaining after evaporation) I would guess
that glass is more durable than plastic for cleaning.
Also if you do choose glass make the top yourself. The glass can
be cut and plastic runners can be purchased at Home Depot (for
e.g.) for a lot less than at an aquarium shop. I just copied the
design from the store-bought ones and it works like a charm!
