Hello friends

I'm justing starting out on nautre aquaria.  Can anybody share his or her's
experience on building a fish tank. I am thinking of building one which is
200 cm x 60 cm x 60 cm. What thickness should the glass panes be ? Will it
take the weight of the water, gravel, stones, etc. ? How do I compute the
safety load ?

Furthermore, I wonder if such a large tank is safe for my 5-th floor
apartment ?  Will the floor be able to take the heavy load ?  I live in
sunny Singapore and I suppose the building codes and regulations follow
international standards, like in the US.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

P/S Presently I hv a 180 cm x 60 cm x 60 cm tank, and am thinking of making
more tanks to grow plants.  will share my experience on the plant growth
with the list later on.  Thanks to the host for this wonderful discussion
group. It's better than going to the library !!
