I am currently suffering filamentous, brush and beard algae in a 1 month
old tank. I had a Lamont iron test reading of .35 last week and
subsequently brought it down to .1 with 10% water changes every other day
and no additional PMDD mix.
Now the algae isn't quite so vigorous but the plants still don't have an
upper hand either. Using the Tetra NO2-N test I consistently get it's
lowest reading of <.1 mg/l. This reading was true before adding PMDD, after
1 week of PMDD to the .35 iron level and now at the .1 iron level.
Is this level indicative of a nitrate limited tank?
