Lighting Reflectors - Alternative

     Thanks for a great post John! It is nice to receive details on how 
     someone else has tackled a problem.
     
     A quick fix if you do not want to go to the time and expense that John 
     did...  try painting the inside of your hood with bright white gloss 
     paint.  It is not 100% effective (neither is a mirrored surface!), but 
     you will be surprised at how much brighter your aquarium is for such a 
     small investment of time and money.
