A simple method I have found for eliminating bluegreen algae is to stop lighting the tank for a few days. Generally I find this clears the bg algae (maybe the as was suggested my snails are eating it) and it doesn't seem to grow back after lighting was returned. The lack of light for such a short time doesn't seem to affect the plants. Rhonda
