A very good source for lighting info is your power company.  Ours
(PG&E) has an "Energy Center" which is devoted to helping
architects, builders, and users save energy and has a boatload of
info on anything that uses a lot of power, and lighting uses a LOT
of power (not per lamp, but across the grid, since there is so much
of it).
