I've got lots of these snails too.  They are great for keeping the
substrate clean and aerated.  They will come out at night and rasp 
interesting patterns in the brown algae on the glass, too.  :-)
They don't appear to ever damage plants.  Their shells are pretty.
The only thing I have against them is the risk to fish eggs.

Someone in the US was offering to ship them to whoever wants them.
I'd like to offer them to Canadians for the cost of postage.  Anyone
have success in mailing them in a waterproof rigid container like
a pill bottle, with some moist peat or vermiculite or whatever?
