Crystal-Clear from Aquarium Products is a polymer that is used in drinking
water to settle out minute particles.  It binds them together so that they
settle or can be filtered out.  It is not an algaecide and will not harm
fish or aquatic plants.  It is a flocculant and I have used it many, many
times without _any_ problems.  Actually, the first use was to settle minute
clay particles out of water!
