The Thai wood shrimp you mention, are they light brown with a white stripe along the back?. If so I believe I have one and it does not appear to be helping much with the blue green algae that has been infesting my tank. However, I only have one and this bg algae seems to be resistent to more than just wood shrimps, i will post again when i have completed medicating the tank.
