Mark,

I originally was using carbon in my filters when I started raising plants.
When I learned I shouldn't, I started to remove it.  I don't know of
anyone that does use it, but I didn't notice any effect to the plants when
I did have it.  They all grew.  I would think that if you dosed daily, you
probably would be fine, but would use a bit more nutrients.

Let me know what you find out.
