Subject: query re tannic acid and algae
Hello,
I am a high school student who hypothesized that the tannic acid in
the Burning Bush tree (Euonymus atropurpureus) can kill the algae that
grows in pools. I noticed that a B.B. stick had fallen into my pool
and the algae around it had been killed off. Knowing that there is
tannic acid in many types of trees I guessed this might be it. My
experiment proving this theory worked, but I cannot find any
information to back my theory up. If you could add any input at all it
would be much appreciated.
Sincerely,
Caitlin McKee
