Scats against algae

About a month go I moved a scat from my display aquarium to my garage
aquarium. He was nibbling on my field of Micranthemum and decimating
it. Since then I have had an outbreak of string algae. Long strands
waving in the current. I put the scat back into the tank and within
five minutes he was busily tearing away at the string algae. My
micranthemum has grown out of bounds so I am going to let him have at
that too. Just thought you'd like to know.
