Hello everybody

I have a quick question about tiger lotus, I gave one of my pups away to 
a friend of mine about 4 months ago. It did the usual thing and took  a 
while to get going, however it has taken off now and flowered. I was 
wondering how common it is to have these plants flower. 

The water chemistry is unusual, pH7.2-7.4, GH 400ppm, KH 120ppm with a 
soil substrate and iron fertiliser.

My parent plant is producing pups at a great rate ( I currently have 12) 
but has shown no sign of flowering.
